Wrinkles, sagging skin, coarse pores... True comes it all comes from anyway!
Skin therapist Naomi explains:
The skin protects us every day from external influences: sun, wind, rain, air pollution, scratches, wounds.... In addition, the skin is creased in many ways by laughing, straining, looking surprised or angry.
Normally, our skin can cope with this. The collagen and elastin in the skin absorb these 'blows' and spring the skin back to its original state. However, after the age of 25, our body produces less and less collagen and elastin. As a result, the skin becomes thinner and less elastic. It slackens and loses its suppleness. Fatty tissue also becomes thinner as we age.
In addition, if you frequent the sun or smoke, you may experience premature skin ageing. Other environmental factors can also contribute to this ageing, such as stress, diet or exposure to HEV light - High Energy Visible light emitted by smartphones and computer screens.
The result is fine lines, wrinkles, pigment spots, red vessels and sagging skin, possibly also with a coarser texture. All in all, this looks unsettled and can be disturbing.

Our solution
Our experienced specialists can significantly refresh and rejuvenate the skin using a variety of methods. From fractional therapy and IPL, to laser and PRP: all treatments force the skin to renew and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. In doing so, they directly counteract ageing of the skin. The skin rejuvenates, pores refine and the skin looks fresher and will firm up.
The aim of any treatment is to have a positive impact on how you feel, both in your personal and professional life.

Treatment
We have several methods to combat skin ageing, each with unique properties. In our experience, a combination of methods often leads to the most beautiful results.
Every skin is unique. So are our treatments.
Which treatment suits me?
Laser specialist Tanja explains:
In general, IPL works well at any age and for almost any skin. We get great results with the IPL as it refreshes and rejuvenates the skin. Redness and pigmentation spots are also addressed with the IPL, which is a nice bonus!
If some coarser artillery is needed, we like to use fractional therapy, such as the Erbium yag or Venus Viva. Here, we may choose to use PRP for accelerated healing and an extra boost in collagen and elastin production. LED mask can also be used after fractional treatment to speed up skin recovery.
Radiofrequency is a great treatment if you want no downtime but still a slight improvement in the firmness and structure of your skin. Because you need to be less careful in the sun after this treatment, it is a treatment we often perform in summer as well.
The Ellipse IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) gives short flashes of intense light. The skin absorbs the energy from the flashes of light, causing redness and pigmentation to fade, inhibiting inflammation and improving skin texture.
With the IPL we can significantly rejuvenate and refresh the skin. The pores refine and the skin tone evens out. The production of collagen is also stimulated, which improves the skin quality significantly.
Veins, redness and pigmentation - including from scars - fade by treating the skin with the IPL. The flashes of the IPL also work anti-inflammatory, drying up pimples and further reducing redness.
Pre-care
It is important that the skin is as light as possible (not tanned) before treatment with the IPL.
- Avoid sun or tanning bed exposure 3 to 4 weeks before treatment.
- Self-tanning cream (bronzer) should also be avoided for 1 week before treatment.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you cannot be treated.
Aftercare
After treatment, please note the following:
- After the treatment, the skin may show some dark discolorations and scabs at the site of pigmentation spots and red veins. This is a sign that the pigmentation spots and red veins will fade. Please do not try to remove the scabs. The discolorations and scabs will disappear by themselves on average after 1 to 2 weeks.
- No sun or sunbed for the first 3 to 4 weeks after the treatment. During this healing period we also advise to not use self-tanning cream (bronzer).
Pigmentation spots are aggravated by sunlight and sunbeds (UV radiation). If you are sensitive to developing pigmentation disorders, you will need to be alert in the sun all year round.
We recommend always using a cream with protection factor (at least SPF 30) and reapplying it every 2 hours if you go out in the sun.
Results
The light from the IPL is absorbed by the skin and converted into heat. As a result, pigment spots and any redness fade away, pores shrink, skin appears fresher and texture improves.
The treatment gives long-term results, partly because the skin continues to produce collagen in the months following treatment. External factors such as sun exposure can re-damage the skin, though. Normal ageing also persists. So, over time, new signs of ageing may reappear. Our advice is to eventually undergo 1 to 2 maintenance treatments per year.
Fractional therapy is one of our most intensive methods to rejuvenate and renew the skin. Imperfections such as acne scars or skin irregularities can be treated well with this method. Fine lines and sagging skin will also benefit from this method.
With fractional therapy we create tiny regular holes in the skin, in a very controlled manner. This forces the skin to renew itself and form new collagen. As a result, the skin will feel firmer and the texture will improve and even out. Our laser specialists use the Erbium Yag laser, Venus Viva, Tixel, or Ydun laser for this method.
Erbium Yag
The laser beam of the Erbium Yag works on the moisture present in the skin and evaporates the upper skin layers by means of a fractionated laser beam. When a laser beam is fractionated, it is divided into smaller light beams. The laser beam makes minuscule holes in the skin, forcing it to recover and renew. The recovery time of an Erbium Yag treatment is approximately 7 to 10 days.
Venus Viva
In the Venus Viva fractional method, tiny holes are punched into the skin using micro-needles. This technique is also known as "fractional needling" or "micro needling". The Venus Viva's fractional method is combined with radiofrequency, generating heat in the skin. This stimulates the production of collagen and fibroblasts.
A Venus Viva treatment can also be combined with a PRP treatment (Platelet Rich Plasma) to further stimulate skin rejuvenation. The recovery time of a Venus Viva treatment is approximately 5 to 7 days.
Tixel
The Tixel is a form of thermal skin rejuvenation. The head of the Tixel is 1 cm2 in size and consists of small titanium pins. These pins are not sharp and are heated to 395 degrees celcius before treatment. During the treatment, these pins are briefly shot against the skin. The heat from the titanium pins then creates small holes in the skin. This process is also called thermo-mechanical ablation. These controlled micro-holes force the skin to heal and renew and stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. The downtime (recovery time) is on average 7-10 days.
Ydun
The Ydun uses a fractional laser beam to create tiny holes in the skin, forcing it to renew. In the deeper skin layers, the production of collagen is stimulated. This restores connective tissue and smoothes the skin's surface. The recovery time of the Ydun treatment is about 7 to 10 days.
Pre-care
Before treatment with fractional therapy can take place, the following are important:
- For 3 to 4 weeks before treatment, no sun and/or sunbed. The skin should not be tanned from the sun.
- In active acne, the skin cannot be treated with fractional therapy
- If you occasionally suffer from a cold sore it is important to notify the practitioner at least 1 week in advance.
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you cannot be treated.
Number of treatments
For optimal results, several (at least three) treatments are recommended. There should be a minimum of 4 weeks between each fractional treatment. The exact treatment plan is put together by the practitioner and is based on your skin.
Aftercare
After fractional treatment, the following practical matters are important:
- The skin will still see some irregular redness and be swollen for the first few days after treatment, this is normal. The skin may also feel tight and dry.
- Sauna, sports and swimming are not recommended for the first 24 hours after treatment.
- The skin may peel a little, this process takes about a week.
- No sun or sunbeds for at least 3 to 4 weeks. A good sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) is recommended at all times.
Results
After the healing process, the results become visible over time. The skin continues to produce collagen in the months following treatment, thus rejuvenating it.
Optimal results are often achieved after several treatments. The laser specialist will draw up a treatment plan based on your skin during the initial consultation. When the desired rejuvenation is finally achieved, our advice does include a maintenance treatment every 6 months.
Electromagnetic radio waves generate perceptible heat in the skin. Treating the skin with radio frequency stimulates collagen production and counteracts the ageing process. The skin tightens and firms up.
Our practitioners use the Accent XL and the Venus Viva for this treatment.
Accent XL
The Accent works by means of electromagnetic radio waves (bipolar and unipolar) that emit energy in the deeper skin layers (up to 20 mm). Due to the rotation of the water molecules in these skin layers, the skin quickly heats up to 40 degrees. In response to this heating, the collagen contracts, becomes thicker and shorter and new collagen is formed. Repeated treatments result in a more compact and firmer skin.
Venus Viva
The Venus Viva combines radiofrequency with magnetic pulses, stimulating the production of collagen and also collagen cells in the skin. Incidentally, the Venus Viva also gives the option of treating the skin with fractional therapy.
Pre-care
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you cannot be treated.
Number of treatments
For optimal results, an average of 4 to 6 radiofrequency treatments are needed. There should be 3 to 4 weeks between each treatment.
Aftercare
After the treatment, the skin may be a little red and swollen. These symptoms disappear within a day. No further aftercare is necessary.
Results
The effect of radio frequency is usually only visible after several treatments. The skin tightens and strengthens. The production of collagen is also stimulated, which rejuvenates the skin. We advise to maintain the skin every 6 months.
PRP treatment uses a high concentration of growth factors from the patient's own blood to improve skin quality.
Platelet Rich Plasma is blood plasma that is high in platelets and growth factors. This plasma plays an important role in skin repair and rejuvenation. Growth factors from one's own blood have been used for years in orthopaedic and dental procedures to promote healing. In cosmetics, this treatment is also known as the 'vampire lift'.
Method
A small amount of blood is taken first. This blood is processed in a specially developed system to isolate the PRP in a safe and clinical way. During this process, the blood plasma including the platelets (the PRP) is separated from the rest of the blood.
The plasma is then administered in combination with a skin-rejuvenating fractional treatment. Fractional treatment creates extremely fine holes in the skin in a controlled manner, forcing the skin to regenerate and rejuvenate. Fractional therapy stimulates the production of collagen which firms the skin, fades irregularities and gives the skin a fresh complexion. Administering PRP with growth factors during this treatment speeds up the healing process and further stimulates collagen production.
Pre-care
Before the treatment can take place, you should consider the following:
- No sun and sunbed for 3 to 4 weeks before the treatment. The skin should be as light (not sun-tanned) as possible.
- In case of active acne, the skin cannot be treated with fractional therapy. We advise to turn to one of our other methods instead.
- If you do suffer from a cold sore it is important to notify the practitioner at least 1 week in advance
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, you cannot be treated.
Aftercare
After fractional treatment with PRP, the following practical issues are important:
- The skin will look a bit irregularly red and swollen for the first few days after the treatment. This is normal. The skin may also feel tight and dry.
- Sauna, sports and swimming are not recommended for the first 24 hours after treatment
- The skin may peel a little, this process takes about a week.
- No sun or sunbeds for at least 3 to 4 weeks. A good sunscreen (SPF 30 or higher) is recommended at all times.
Results
As the skin heals and produces new collagen and elastin, skin texture, tone and fine lines improve. The skin rejuvenates and appears calmer.
Treatment with PRP has optimal results when repeated a number of times. In the first year, an average of 3 to 4 treatments are desired. After that, a maintenance treatment of once or twice a year is sufficient.
LED light stimulates the production of new cells in the skin and repairs skin tissue.
The LED Therapy Mask was originally developed by NASA to promote wound healing. LED light stimulates the production of new cells in the skin and repairs skin tissue. The blue LED light fights the bacteria that cause acne.
Method
For 20 minutes, the LED mask is placed on your face. This can emit different wavelengths of LED, depending on the purpose of the treatment. A combination with a hyaluronic acid mask, which restores the skin's moisture level, can also be chosen.
We often deploy the LED Mask after fraxel or IPL treatments for more beautiful and faster healing and results. The LED Mask also increases the permeability of the skin, so skin-care products will work more effectively.
Number of treatments
The LED Mask can be used as often as desired, but we usually use the mask to speed up skin recovery after fractional therapy or IPL treatment.
Before the treatment
No precautions are required for treatment with the LED mask.
After the treatment
Immediately after the treatment, the skin may appear red and feel hot. This will disappear the same day. No further aftercare is required for the skin.
Results
The effect of the LED Mask is faster recovery from the fractional or IPL treatment that took place before.
Was very well helped and informed in a short consultation. Learned so much. Walked out of the clinic satisfied. Thank you!

Choice Guide
- How to choose a good clinic and cosmetic practitioner? Here we'll provide you with some tips
Nowadays we are flooded with cosmetic treatments, trends and hypes. In every neighborhood of the city there are several clinics that offer various types of treatments, each claiming to be better than the other.
But how do you choose a good clinic? And how do you know for sure that you end up with a competent practitioner?
We are happy to help you on your way with our choice guide:
First the basics
- First, check if the clinic has a good reputation or if you know people who can recommend the clinic. A quick Google search for the clinic in question will get you a long way. Now, you don't have to be put off by a few bad reviews, but if a clinic has a lot of negative reviews, it might be smart to look elsewhere.
- Who do you have an appointment with and is that the person who will also treat you? You can ask these questions directly by phone or email at the reception. It is wise to then google that practitioner and see if they have the right certifications and diplomas, regardless of what is stated on the website of the clinic itself. You can search for a skin therapist, cosmetic doctor, or plastic surgeon.
The consultation
Once you have chosen a clinic and practitioner, it is time for a consultation. During this consultation you can ask the following questions:
- How often should I be treated?
- What degrees and certifications do you have?
- How much does a treatment cost?
- What kind of aftercare do you provide and is this included in the price?
- What happens if the result is not good enough?
Lastly…
- Were all your questions answered properly during the consultation? Realize that you have every right to ask questions and that these must be answered clearly.
- Take your time. A practitioner should never force you to undergo a treatment right now. Does it feel pushy? Or do you still have doubts? Then say that you would like to think about it and that you will contact them if you want to start the treatment.
Very professional, friendly and honest. I feel confident here that I am in good hands with professionals who also tell me honestly what can and cannot be done

Maintenance
Despite the rejuvenating boost our treatments provide, your skin will age again over time. Collagen and elastin slowly decline and external influences, such as sunlight and smoking, also continue to age the skin.
For this reason, our advice is to ideally give your skin a maintenance treatment once or twice a year. Just like you go to the dentist or dental hygienist. Your skin will thank you!
From sun and rain to scratches and harsh make-up cleansers: the skin protects us every day. Not a bad idea to do something in return, right?
In addition to these treatments, it is also important to care for and protect your skin in everyday life. Use sun protection (SPF 30-50) daily and reapply it every 2 hours if you go out in the sun.
We have some great products with SPF that we have tested extensively ourselves, and that we also use daily in the clinic:
- Brush on Bloc is a mineral sun protection (SPF 30) in powder form and is very easy to quickly brush over the face on the go. A nice product without nasty ingredients.
- Oxygenetix is a nourishing and healing foundation that we have in a range of skin tones. With it, you can camouflage the skin while also protecting it with SPF 30.
I have been coming here for over 15 years and am always incredibly satisfied with the end result. Had several treatments and you get the desired result without losing your natural look.

Q&A
Elastin and collagen... what exactly is the difference?
Skin therapist Claire Lune explains:
Collagen and elastin are both proteins produced by fibroblasts (cells in your connective tissue). They are both important for skin firmness and resilience, but there is a difference.
If you compare your skin to a mattress for a moment, you could say that collagen forms the springs (the structure and firmness) and elastin is the padding (thus providing elasticity and resilience).
In reality, as you get older, you almost always become deficient in both elastin and collagen, as your body replenishes the levels of both proteins less and less well. External factors - such as sunlight and smoking - also have quite an impact on the collagen and elastin in your skin.
The result is sagging and wrinkled skin that does not properly spring back to its original state. Here again, think of that mattress that has lain and jumped on for all those years and thus sagged and faded.
With our laser and light treatments, we basically give the skin a well-controlled 'thump'. By doing so, we force the skin to heal and renew. The result? A boost in collagen and elastin production and firmer, more resilient skin!
How long does a treatment take?
Skin therapist Naomi explains:
The duration of a treatment depends on how large the area is and which method is used. As an indication, treatment of a few single spots can be completed in as little as 10 minutes, while a full-face treatment takes about 45 minutes.
I would like the same practitioner all the time, is that possible?
Laser specialist Tanja explains:
Of course you can! What's more, you basically enter a treatment programme with one of our practitioners. Follow-up appointments are therefore always booked with the same practitioner. Of course, it is also possible to change practitioners, but we usually see clients staying with the same practitioner.
Does the treatment hurt?
Laser specialist Tanja explains:
The flashes from IPL and lasers can be felt, but are actually well tolerated by everyone. Fractional treatment is usually a bit more sensitive than IPL treatment, but is also well tolerated. Some areas on the body can be a bit more sensitive than others.
With a radiofrequency treatment, you will feel heat in the skin, but it is otherwise not sensitive. And with a peel, you may feel tight, tingly skin, but this treatment is not painful or sensitive either.
What's the price of a treatment?
Laser specialist Tanja explains:
This depends entirely on the size of the area to be treated. As an indication, our treatments start at €85 for a small spot, while an IPL treatment of a whole face costs €395 and a fractional treatment for a whole face costs €435.
How do I look after treatment?
Skin therapist Naomi explains:
After IPL treatment, any pigment spots and red vessels will darken and scabs may also appear on them. This is gone after 7 to 10 days.
After fractional treatment, the skin usually looks somewhat battered: it is red for the first few days, and a pattern of tiny holes is visible in the skin. The skin may also flake slightly. The skin is rough for about 7 to 14 days.
With radiofrequency, your skin is actually only a little red the first day, but after that you have no downtime.
Can I camouflage blemishes and discolouration?
Skin therapist Claire Lune explains:
Yes! You may simply camouflage the treated skin. By the way, we have great products for this, which also help the skin in the healing process at the same time.
Can anything also go wrong with this treatment?
Skin therapist Claire Lune explains:
In principle, these are safe treatments, but it is important that they are performed by an experienced practitioner who is also qualified to work with these devices and methods.
The biggest risk with IPL and fractional treatments is that the skin burns and blisters form. In the worst case, this leaves scars. This can happen if the IPL or fractional therapy device is set too heavy or if the skin is too sun-tanned or sensitive.
Another risk is temporary darkening or lightening of the skin (hyper- or hypopigmentation). This usually corrects itself, but may take 1-2 years.
There are many laser clinics offering this treatment. Why should I choose you?
Skin therapist Claire Lune explains:
Most importantly, you should choose a clinic that has good and experienced practitioners who are also certified to perform this kind of treatment, such as skin therapists, dermatologists or cosmetic doctors.
At our clinic, these treatments are performed by skin therapists and laser specialists, and there are several cosmetic doctors on hand to consult with. In that respect, we are a versatile clinic where a lot of expertise comes together under one roof.
In addition, lasering is at the heart of the clinic, so we have performed this type of treatment many times and have gained a lot of experience with it. The quality of the device used is also incredibly important. In fact, lasers and IPL devices come in different grades and qualities. For instance, the IPL Ellipse Nordlys we use is state-of-the-art and the lasers in our range are still the gold standard for skin-rejuvenating treatments.
In addition, we have heart for our customers and our aftercare is second to none. Is something wrong? Or do you still have a question? With us, treatment does not stop as soon as you walk out the door, but you are always welcome for questions or a check-up.
Any doubts? No problem. We are firm believers that you should look around carefully. You can use the Choice Guide we have compiled to make an informed choice wherever you go.
How many treatments do I need?
Skin therapist Naomi explains:
The number of treatments strongly depends on the type of device we use and the quality of the skin. For instance, for pigmentation spots, a significant improvement can usually be seen after just 2 IPL treatments. Between 2 and 4 treatments may be needed, depending on the amount and depth of the pigment.
For fractional therapy, we also see that on average at least 3 to 4 treatments are needed to achieve good results.
As skin ageing simply continues, it is also recommended to undergo 1 or 2 maintenance treatments annually.
Can you recommend a good sunscreen?
Skin therapist Claire Lune explains:
We have some great products with SPF that we have tested extensively ourselves and also use daily.
What is the difference between SPF 30 and SPF 50?
Skin therapist Naomi explains:
SPF stands for Sun Protective Factor. The higher the SPF, the more protection you have from the sun's harmful UV light. In reality however, the difference between SPF 30 and SPF 50 is almost negligible. In fact, a sunscreen with SPF 30 protects your skin for about 97%, while a sunscreen with SPF 50 protects for 98%.
The main danger lies in the illusion of safety that SPF 50 brings. While it offers only 1% more protection, we are quick to think that we are 'safe' for the rest of the day with this high factor.
As such, it is much more important to reapply sunscreen every 2 hours when you go out in the sun. If you do this, it makes almost no difference whether you use SPF 30 or SPF 50!
